Pieter Jacobus Daniel Ploeg
Pieter Jacobus Daniël Ploeg was born on November 6, 1985 in Hilversum the Netherlands. He grew up in Hilversum, Haarlem & Amsterdam as the oldest of 5 children. His father is a music teacher, school director and composer and his mother is a teacher and school director. Pieter graduated at the Rudolf Steinerschool in Haarlem in 2003 and attended the Amsterdam Theatre School where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 2008. His dissertation was on Lighting Design for Opera. He then worked as a lighting technician for Toneelgroep Amsterdam, a large theatre company.
Besides his studies and work he always volunteered in youth projects like camps, conferences and workshops. He has been organizing the International Youth Camp for 5 years, co-founded a youth network organization in the Netherlands and organized various youth workshops, meet-ups and conferences.
In 2009/2010 he attended the International Youth Initiative Program (YIP), a new social entrepreneur training in Järna, Sweden. On 01-02-2010 he launched pietradelmundo, which he still heads up as a framework for various projects. Since spring 2011 Pieter works full-time for YIP as an organizer and board member.
