Starting a social enterprise I needed to choose a bank for the financial transactions. This was not difficult. Triodos Bank is the most sustainable bank in the world (Financial Times).

100% of all positive interest on the accounts of pietradelmundo will be invested in projects of the Triodos Foundation.

My first invoice will be send out soon. From every invoice, 1% of the total sum will be donated to a project of the 1%Club. The recipient of the invoice can choose a project form the 1%Club website, or give this choice to pietradelmundo. Together we can solve poverty!

WHAT IS THE 1%CLUB

“When everybody invests 1% of their  income, time and expertise we can solve poverty”. With this idea the 1%CLUB was founded. To be honest: It doesn’t matter. You don’t have to come to me. I do not even try to be better then others.

What I offer is commitment and passion, inspiration and transparency, clarity of purpose and a young perspective. Moreover: it will always be me. pietradelmundo is not a mask. pietradelmundo is Pieter Jacobus Daniël Ploeg, working for the world.

What makes me unique is that there is only one Pieter Jacobus Daniël Ploeg on the entire planet. And that is me.

pietradelmundo is Pieter Jacobus Daniël Ploeg as social innovator, host, social media consultant, social gathering organiser and backstage event co-creator.

I facilitate participatory change processes and collaborative design sessions. I host and harvest conversations that matter in communities for social innovation and positive social change. In need for change?

I offer to be your guide in the social media landscape on the web. I develop personal and professional websites, blogs, online marketing strategies, social network presence and online collaboration. Want to be on-line to be more off-line?

I organise a wide variety of social gatherings. Conferences, meetings, camps, performances, festivals, theatre productions. I tend to co-create and co-imagine.

pietradelmundo = pietra del mundo

Derived from the Greek Πετρος (Petros) meaning “stone“. This is a translation used in most versions of the New Testament of the name Cephas, meaning “stone” in Aramaic, which was given to the apostle Simon by Jesus (compare Matthew 16:18 and John 1:42).

During YIP I want to consciously address all the steps needed to develop a social enterprise.

This includes the registration of the enterprise with the chamber of commerce, the development of a business plan, business strategy, budget, bookkeeping, marketing, website, client communication, design, etc.
The challenge is to make this possible without having to manage an enterprise, or having to much financial risk in innovation. The opportunity is to create a balance between financial sustenance and creative ‘imagineering’.

This project incorporates a learning aspect by making the process 100% transparent to the network and community. This happens live on this website/blog where I showcase all the steps it takes to develop this.

I want to develop a financially sustainable enterprise, striving for social innovation and positive social change.

This enterprise serves as a platform for myself, so that my basic human needs are financially covered, allowing me to develop projects and initiatives for a more just and sustainable world.

The very basic framing question of this project is:

• How can I pay the bills, doing what I love to be doing, continuously learning and offering my experiences and qualities to the world?

What am I sensing in the world that gives rise to this idea?

The world is in need of inspiration and engagement for change. Throughout all layers of society I sense increasing complexity, anxiety, fear and surrender. Today’s global challenges are pressing and bold. Something needs to change, but how?

What does the world need this enterprise to be?

The world needs social entrepreneurs; people that undertake with boldness and readiness; with adventurous spirit and ingenuity. The world needs enterprises with a new focus. Financial profit can no longer be our main objective or aim.
